Menopause: self-help tips

The menopause can leave you feeling out of control of your own body but there are things you can do to ease the symptoms.

Minimise hot flushes and night sweats by 

  • Exercising regularly (walking the dog, gardening, hoovering vigorously!)
  • Wearing lighter clothing, cotton is great
  • Turning the radiators down or off in your bedroom
  • Avoiding spicy food, caffeine

Stay positive and minimise mood swings by

  • Giving yourself a break and get plenty of rest
  • Starting relaxation techniques such as yoga or pilates
