NEW Pregnancy Grant
March 2009

From April 2009 you can claim a payment of £190 as long as you are receiving antenatal advice from a professional - a midwife.

This money can be used however you wish. HealthHarmonie's services at 26 weeks include:

  • 3D/4D Scan between 24 and 26 weeks (not twins) £185
  • Group B Streptococcuss cream 34 - 36 weeks £60
  • Fetal wellbeing anytime after 15 weeks £160
  • Gender scan from 16 weeks £95

The Pregnancy Grant form will be given to you and completed by both your midwife and you at around 26 or 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Your midwife will tell you about the grant during your antenatal check and you will fill out the form with your midwife and post it.

You need to claim before you have the baby so if you midwife does not mention the Pregnancy Grant you need bring this up so that your midwife can organise these.

You can start to claim in your 25th week. Babies must be due on or after the 6th April 2009.

The Pregnancy Grant of £190 will be paid directly into your bank account 7 days after receiving a letter to say that you have qualified to receive the grant.

If you require any further advice, the helpline is 0845 366 7885.

An MP3 about the Pregnant Grant can be listened to here.
