An Artery Doppler scan is a screening test for pre-eclampsia and poor fetal growth.
At 23 weeks of pregnancy, ultrasound can be used to examine the blood flow in your uterus (womb). From this it is possible to tell whether or not your pregnancy is at higher than average risk of:
- high blood pressure (pre-eclampsia)
- potentially poor growth during pregnancy
This is therefore a screening test and can alert your Obstetrician to the need for further ultrasound growth examination in pregnancy.
You will receive a CD and black and white (thermal) pictures of your baby together a medical written report. We will also ask if you would like a copy of the report sent to your GP
