The menopause is the name given to the end of menstruation (periods). It is also sometimes referred to as 'the change of life'.
HealthHarmonie’s menopause service is for women:
- newly experiencing the symptoms of menopause
- who are post menopausal
- requiring one off or regular consultations to monitor symptoms and to regain complete control
During your consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your menopausal symptoms with a consultant gynaecologist. Our consultants use a short questionnaire for you to complete and bring along at each visit to help monitor:
- Your symptoms
- The effectiveness of any prescribed medication
- The benefits of recommended changes to your lifestyle
An individual plan of care is developed for you, this can include medical and complementary therapies. This file of Frequently asked questions has the latest accurate information on management of the menopause, in particular Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT):
Mirena coils can be used as Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and we have linked you to our web page.
Following your consultation you will receive a written report. We will also ask if you would like a copy of the report sent to your NHS healthcare provider, for example your GP.
Your consultant may recommend further blood tests that can be performed at HealthHarmonie or they may be available through your GP.
For fees please see our Fee’s section on the left.
Please note that you do not need a GP referral.
